What is the Shift Method?

The Shift Method is a coaching & education based platform. We exist to help people identify their goals, & pursue them relentlessly through physical fitness. Our programming is backed by science & is based on strength & conditioning principles to support athletes & anyone looking to improve their fitness levels. We also aspire to bridge the gap between physical therapy & strength & condition by utilizing innovative, evidence-based practices for those working through pain & injury. If you have the desire to pursue what is meaningful to you, work hard, have fun, & be a part of a major shift in fitness culture, then The Shift Method is for you!

Founder & Head Coach of The Shift Method

Coach D currently serves as the Assistant Director for Fitness & Wellness at FAU’s Recreation & Fitness Center in Boca Raton, Florida. He’s also the Founder & Head of Coach of The Shift Method | Fitness & Education LLC. The Shift Method exists for three primary reasons. First, to provide evidence-based coaching so that individuals can identify what they value & relentlessly pursue it in an engaging, challenging, & welcoming environment. Second, to be a leader in reputable education, experiences, & conversations in the fields of exercise science, coaching, & self-development for fitness & health professionals. Third, to help bridge the gap between physical therapy and strength & conditioning. The Shift Method 7

The Shift Method 7 (SM7) is a list of values that make up Coach D’s approach to working with others

  1. Purpose: If you know your why, you’ll know your way. We exist to help individuals align their goals with their values to create meaning.

  2. Action: Planning is important, but it’s useless if you don’t pair it with action. We take an individual’s goals, formulate a plan, & then provide the platform & guidance to relentlessly take action.

  3. Resilience: Exercise can improve your health physically & mentally. It’s important to ensure you’re resilient to have a happy and successful life.

  4. Engagement: Our workouts will be challenging, there’s no escaping that! But, just because something is challenging doesn’t mean it’s impossible & that it can’t be fun. Our programs are tailor-made to serve advanced athletes, someone who’s starting their fitness journey, & everyone in between. Remember, engagment comes from a sense of accomplishment & having fun.

  5. Education: We strive to be a pillar of education for the public & fitness professionals. Everything we do is based on the latest & most reliable science in our field.

  6. Autonomy: We believe people are the authors of their own life. Our job is to merely be a guide in helping individuals change their lives. We provide the resources & platform for people to take ownership of their lives through physical activity & education.

  7. Culture: We exist to SHIFT the hearts & minds of those we encounter. We are a family, a way of life, & a method for you to reach what you value.
